What type of plastic do you use for your prints?

 PLA:

PLA is a strong, bio-based thermoplastic

Polylactic Acid, most commonly known as PLA, is a polymer made from renewable resources. Contrary to other thermoplastics which are petroleum-based, some of the raw materials used for PLA’s production include corn starch, tapioca roots, or sugarcane. Its properties, however, are comparable to other plastics in the industry. These characteristics and consumers’ desire to use a less impactful material have triggered its rapid entrance to the plastic market as a competitive commodity. Even though PLA is biodegradable, it will only breakdown under certain circumstances and needs to be sent to a commercial composting facility for processing, otherwise it will be around for a long time.

Benefits of PLA Plastic

PLA is an environmentally friendly, compostable filament that prints easily at low temperatures and looks great. It's also pretty strong. ... Truth be told, PLA's is very strong. With a tensile strength of 7,250 psi, this is a strong material. PLA is made from renewable raw materials. It has a reduced carbon footprint compared to fossil based plastics. It takes less energy to form and this produces less greenhouse gas to produce PLA than fossil-based plastic. PLA melts more easily because it has a lower melting point than many fossil-based plastics. It’s easy to work with PLA and it requires less energy to transform. One of the two most used plastics in 3D printing.
